If you click on the new page choice box will appear enabling you to create a new page.
The options in the create page dialogue allow the page to be customised :
Create a new page Enter the title of your new page which will afterwards appear in the menu
Position Decide whether you want to position the menu as a "sibling" of your selected menu postion by selecting 'Page' or as a "child" menu point (at the next lower hierarchical level) by choosing 'Sub page'.
Type Choose the type of page by pressing the selection arrow which will reveal a scroll-down choice which will depend on the options made available to you. Selecting 'Menu point only' will generate a menu point which can only lead to a further menu point and which will not display any content of its own. Experiment with creating menu points from the same starting point using "page" and "sub-page" to understand the difference between the two. Selecting 'Standard' will generate a menu point with a page containing a single text area onto which you can enter content. The 'Standard' page type is the most commonly used page type.
