You can use the trash can when you wish to delete a menu chain.
Selecting the trash can will display the  check box.
If you are really sure that you wish to delete this menu point and all menu items subsidiary to it, press the .
If you are not absolutely sure, press the  symbol.

  Be careful not to a menu point that has child menu points. The child menu points will also be deleted.

  WARNING : If you delete a menu item it, and all its associated pages and menu points will be irretrievably lost!
